For glass lanterns of over 3 meters in length, the Full Tensioned ZIP System is your perfect option. The FTS has been designed to give excellent sun and heat protection into your room from the large amounts of glass your lantern will have. It is also perfect for allowing you privacy from any overlooking neighbours as well as closing out those cold wintery nights
The unique Zip blind has a welded zip down two sides of the fabric. When the blind is pulled along into the closed position, the zips connect into the side channel track system preventing the fabric from sagging. The double motor system works by one motor pulling in the opening or closing position and once the blind has reached your desired position, the first motor will lock and the second motor will slightly reverse allowing the fabric to be pulled tightly in both directions, leaving you with a trampoline effect.
The fabric is made up with a mixture of fibreglass and PVC, making it extremely strong for the tensioning of the blind. Our customer’s most popular choice of fabric is the perforated fabric. Perforated fabric means it has tiny holes throughout the fabric allowing the light to penetrate through but still giving you sun shading and reasonable privacy from neighbours. The perforated fabric comes in a choice of between 1, 3, 5, or 10% light penetration and lots of colours are available, including full blackout.
Our blackout fabric is the ideal solution for cinema rooms or where your room has a TV or projector screen. It works along with the Zip system to give your screen the full anti-glare treatment.
The drop and width range is from as little as 600mm x 600mm to 6.8m x 13m. Every level of shading through to full blackout can be achieved. Twin blind systems are available for the ultimate in light control and there is almost no application or type of location where we cannot supply a suitable system.
Either manual or electric control is possible, although manual control (via cord or gearbox and crank handle) is not practical in every location. Electric control can be achieved through directly wired controls or radio handset(s).
This blind is called our Constant Tension system (CTS). The CTS has been designed to work in a similar way to the Motorised, Full-Tensioned System.
Where a roof Lantern is less than 3m in length, a single motor system is required as this is sufficient enough to tension the fabric. It still uses the unique fabric ZIP system along with its big brother, the “FT System”.
